Dear Krissy,

Krissy ManzanoYou've always been a dreamer, asking a million questions until you fully understand something. Some people won’t get it, but that relentless curiosity will be your superpower. Your ability to dream will give you an optimism that, at times, will shield you from pain. I wish you had realized sooner how smart you are and hadn’t shied away from the respect you deserved. But sometimes, you have to go through things to truly understand their importance.

That family you always wished for? You’ll have it and more. But don’t let your ambition keep you from being present. You’ve spent years pushing forward, proving the impossible is possible. Learn when to pause, breathe, and take in what you’ve built. Life is short. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. You are living your dream—don’t miss it.

You’ll face things that make you want to guard yourself, protect your space, and be more careful with your voice. The sexism you experience at one company will be one of the hardest things you go through. But it will shape you into someone stronger, smarter, and more confident than you ever imagined. It will be the moment you start using your voice to change things for the women who come after you.

Through the hard times, remember: you can do hard things. You always have. Growth lives in discomfort. Lean into challenges instead of fearing them, so you don’t get lost in what you can’t control.

You care deeply about people, and some will call that a weakness in business. They’re wrong. It will be your greatest strength. You will prove that kindness and success are not opposites, and the world will be better for it.

When you feel overwhelmed by what you haven’t done, remember what you have that is rare. A husband who supports you without insecurity. Children who are becoming the best of friends. A business and a community that aren’t just stable, but thriving. These things are priceless. Hold onto them when everything feels like too much.

You are meant to do great things, and you will. Keep trusting your instincts, keep your ego in check, and most of all, don’t forget to enjoy the life you’ve created. Even in an uncertain world, there is so much beauty to embrace.

Love,
Krissy
