What makes a community? Is a community something formed by chance? Is it simply those who live or work in a similar space?
For Pavilion CEO and founder Sam Jacobs, community is something much more meaningful.
“Community and connection are so powerful,” said Jacobs at Transform 2021. “We’ve seen that a better professional world is possible. We see a world where work isn’t cutthroat, but based on mutual support. We see the greatness that lies in all of our members and want to bring it to light.”
From Revenue Collective’s humble beginnings as a dinner party and email chain support group in New York City to the 5,000+ member Pavilion community today, Jacobs always had a vision for the way professionals could come together to serve each other — and the greater good.
That’s why it made sense for Pavilion to welcome other communities with a similar vision and mission under its awning.
In June 2021, Pavilion joined forces withFinOps, a community of finance and operations professionals who believed that time is of the essence when it comes to growing your career.
“We were looking for ways to move quickly and move on to the next challenge,” said Teampay VP of Finance Peter Nesbitt. “Frankly, it was a completion of the vision; the continuing education component will level everyone up.”
Over the next few weeks, you’ll see more content, including a series from the former FinOps community leaders including FinOps creator and Bleecker 7 Jones partner Brian Saplicki, focused on topics important to the finance and operations leaders within Pavilion and the values that align everyone in our community together.
