Pavilion + Ecologi Holiday Drive: Tackling Climate Change Head-On - Pavilion

Forget white elephants — Pavilion HQ is planting trees to offset its carbon footprint

When it comes to dire predictions about climate change, it’s easy to feel despondent. After all, how much do reusable shopping bags or metal straws really help when an underwater gas leak can ignite a fire deep in the Gulf of Mexico? The answer is: not much.

The facts are this: There are only two things that can reverse the warming trend we’re seeing on the planet — a price on carbon and technologies to actively remove carbon (and methane) from the atmosphere.

That’s why this holiday season, we’re working with Ecologi to help offset the carbon footprint of Pavilion HQ staff and our members with a goal of planting 10 million trees in the coming years, nature’s original form of carbon sequestration.

For every new member who joins Pavilion via the Pavilion Ambassadors (our referral program), Pavilion will donate $50 to Ecologi through December 31, 2021.

The goal? To raise $8,400 for Ecologi, which will amount to 50,000 trees planted.

“It is by doing more, namely investing in large scale carbon sequestration and removal, that we might possibly have a chance,” says Pavilion founder Sam Jacobs.

We’ve also had valued sponsors match donations to maximize our impact. These partners matched each $50 donation up to $500 per partner (that’s up to 5,000 extra trees):

  • Week of November 29: Loopio + QuotaPath
  • Week of December 6: Outreach + Reprise
  • Week of December 13: Sendoso + Gong

Together, we’re getting closer to our goal to plant 50,000 trees this holiday season. And hopefully, efforts like these as well as booming investments in climate tech will make a difference in a problem that threatens all of us.
