All in the Family: Pavilion Member Profile - Mercedes Rebata-Turiel, Gabriella Rebata & Allison Yount - Pavilion

Written by Pavilion HQ | Sep 29, 2021 4:00:00 AM

Here at Pavilion, we operate like family — and we believe that family can be the people you choose. That said, we love to see actual family member connections in our ranks. Our next profile features sisters Mercedes Rebata-Turiel & Gabriella Rebata, and their cousin Allison Yount.

Mercedes Rebata-Turiel, Member Support Manager, Pavilion

Gabrielle Rebata, Senior SDR, FormAssembly

Allison Yount, VP of Enterprise Sales, Fairmarkit

PVLN: How did you all hear about Pavilion?

Mercedes: I heard about Pavilion through a former colleague, and after speaking with him and my cousin Allison (from a Member perspective), I knew I had to be a part of this team.

Gabriella: I heard about Pavilion through Mercedes when she first got a job in Member Support. It wasn’t until she told me about their new Analyst community that launched in September that I was really interested in joining and learning more.

Allison: A mentor of mine who is a VP of Sales in the tech space was constantly reposting content from Pavilion, and it always caught my attention. I asked him about it one day, and he gave me the scoop. I immediately wanted to join to network and enhance my own skills and knowledge across a network.

PVLN: Who joined first? And how did that person convince the other person to join?

Mercedes: Allison was a member first, but I heard about Pavilion from a former colleague. After some research, I saw that Allison was a member and asked to chat more about it. She had nothing but amazing things to say about the community, and from there, I was hooked. I knew I had to work here. After working at Pavilion for a few months, Sam announced the addition of the Analyst community. I thought this would be a perfect fit for Gabriella as she is a new SDR. I gave Gabriella the rundown on Pavilion, and not only did she sign up for the community, she also enrolled in SDR School.

PVLN: Does a revenue-focused career path run in the family?

Gabriella: Absolutely. Both of my and Mercedes’ parents are in sales, and most of Allison’s family is. When I first started looking into jobs after college, I was not looking for a sales job as it didn’t seem like something I would enjoy, but I had so many people telling me it would be a great fit for me. After talking with Allison, my uncle, who has experience in sales, and my parents, I decided to pursue an SDR role, which I do now for FormAssembly.

Mercedes: To echo Gabriella, almost our whole family is in a revenue-focused role, and most of my friends. I started in the hospitality industry as an event manager, and it was not the right fit for me. As soon as I made the jump to customer success, I was hooked, and I love what I do.

PVLN: How often do you cross paths in Slack channels or at events?

Mercedes: As we live all over the country (Gabriella is in Arizona, Allison is in California, and Mercedes is in Florida), we don’t cross paths at in-person events, but the three of us are always chatting on Slack either sharing resources or just checking in on one another.

PVLN: How often did you lean on each other for advice before Pavilion?

Mercedes: Allison is a lot farther in her career than Gabriella and I, so we both turned to Allison for interview prep, resume writing help, etc. She has been amazing in helping us further our careers, and I have assisted my little sister Gabriella with advice as she is new to the revenue realm.

Gabriella: Ditto^. Allison was amazing in helping me find my first sales job after college and helping me transition to my second job earlier this year. I have gone to both Mercedes and Allison for advice, resume help, job interview preparation, and anything else you can think of.

PVLN: Now that we’re Pavilion (formerly Revenue Collective), what are you looking forward to? What announcements were you most excited to hear about? What do the changes mean for you as a Member?

Gabriella: I am most excited about the SDR Acceleration School. When I am not talking with prospects at work, I like to improve my skills as an SDR. I am really looking forward to learning from other people in my field and sharing what I have learned over the past year as an SDR.

Allison: The course offerings have been amazing. I took the Frontline Manager School course and shared much of what I learned with my team and managers – the Pavilion content and resources spread so far beyond just members, and I’m excited to keep that community growing.

PVLN: What’s your favorite part about being a member of Pavilion?

Mercedes: My favorite thing about being a part of the Pavilion team is how collaborative everyone is. Not just at Pavilion HQ, but members are always willing to jump in and help other members of the Pavilion team whenever needed. I think what makes this place so special is that you will always know someone has your back.

Gabriella: My favorite part about being a member is that I always have somewhere to go if I need advice or resources in my role. I also love that I was able to find a mentor through the Guideline program.

Allison: Community. I remember feeling stuck on many issues related to management, team, comp plans, etc., before joining Pavilion, and honestly, I was sometimes afraid to ask for help. But once I joined, it was so clear that others had encountered many of the same issues or topics, and it was a safe space to share, ask for help, and learn from others to get my problems solved more efficiently.
